Butoh dance originated in Japan in the 1950's.
Butoh is a dance of darkness and light, death and living.
Usually the movements in Butoh are slow, meditative
and contemplative.
I find Butoh so inspiring - when I dance, I feel a sense of
timelessness in and around me and the freedom to express
the Spirit - with its changing moods - through me.
Like Nature, the dance has its own rhythm.
Butoh is a wonderful way of self-expression.
I grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel, and studied painting, pottery, video art and
sculpture with different schools and teachers.
In the autumn of 2003 I moved to Arizona and now live in the small
town of Patagonia, south of Tucson. Here I do pottery, paint, garden
and sometimes dance.
In the winter of 2004/2005 I participated in a Butoh (dance) workshop in Oakland,
California with Butoh teacher and performer Judith Kajiwara and
discovered Butoh's magic, joy and mystery.
Feel free to contact me and maybe come to beautiful Patagonia to see some
more art.
